A Vegan Thanksgiving

This is my first  Thanksgiving as a vegan ! (It is also my boyfriend's first time too ;)) And, with that being said, I have done quite a bit of research to find the best and most delicious vegan alternatives on the market. I had been a vegetarian for about 10 years, and that meant I could eat all the sides that had dairy and eggs, so I never really felt like I would be missing out.  But now as a vegan, most everything is out of the picture!  --- None of my mother's infamous mac n'cheese, no green bean casserole, and definitely not any homemade apple pies. --- So what is a girl to do? I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegan options that I found in my local supermarket. Sprouts Farmers Market had a whole section for just vegan Thanksgiving items! It's better for the earth and for your body. I don't remember the last time I took over the counter medicine or had a cold, and I believe that is because I only consume food that is nutritious, and not full of fat and cholesterol, which most ani...

I took a gardening course at my college where we learned about native California plants, and that really sparked my interest. I planted a few natives around the garden and propagated some house plants for myself as a token!  Here is some of the Rainbow Chard I planted:  One of my favorite ways to get grounded is being in nature. When you're living amongst the plants it makes you feel more at home and serene, something you can't find in the streets of the city.  Being in California is such a blessing because we have so many beautiful plants and recreational areas that celebrate the natural beauty of this state.  If you want to get more involved with ...
