A Vegan Thanksgiving

This is my first  Thanksgiving as a vegan! (It is also my boyfriend's first time too ;))

And, with that being said, I have done quite a bit of research to find the best and most delicious vegan alternatives on the market.

I had been a vegetarian for about 10 years, and that meant I could eat all the sides that had dairy and eggs, so I never really felt like I would be missing out.

But now as a vegan, most everything is out of the picture!
---None of my mother's infamous mac n'cheese, no green bean casserole, and definitely not any homemade apple pies.---

So what is a girl to do?

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegan options that I found in my local supermarket.
Sprouts Farmers Market had a whole section for just vegan Thanksgiving items!

To help you guys out, here are the best of the best!
*I found many of these items at Safeway, Whole Foods, and Sprouts Farmers Markets*

Roasts

Field Roast Celebration Roast
This is one of my favorites simply because of the minimal prep. You just heat and serve!
Its big enough to satisfy at least 4 people, and can even be sliced thin as deli meat.
There are a couple different flavors of these roasts, but this one was the one I was able to find at all my local grocery stores.

Gardein Holiday Roast
This roast, although it has a lengthy prep, it is totally worth it.
Its has a crispy breaded outside, with a warm and chewy inside.
Plus, this one came with gravy!

Sides & Desserts

Now, these aren't necessarily things you can buy, but instead they are some of my favorite recipes that you can make from home :)

Lentil Shepard's Pie
I made this last weekend for an early Thanksgiving and it was to die for!!

Vegan Stuffing Cakes
I might make these tomorrow! They looks so good!

Vegan Apple Pie
I have been dying for a deliciously warm apple pie ever since I became vegan and this one looks like a winner to me.

Vegan + Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie
What's better than this no-guilt pumpkin pie? Literally nothing.

I hope you guys check out these recipes and have a deliciously filling Thanksgiving.

I am so thankful for the knowledge I have gained over the years regarding animal cruelty and the ways in which the American food industry has corrupted our minds and bodies with filth.

This Thanksgiving I challenge everyone to give thanks by sparing the lives of others. I am sure you are thankful for your own life, so now let's give back.

Don't buy a turkey or ham. Instead, buy a vegan one!
Not only will it save you so much time and stress, but the beloved tradition can still live on.

Thanksgiving is about spending time with family and friends, and I can't think of a better way than by sharing the good health that we are so capable of having.

God Bless & Happy Thanksgiving :)

My New Diffuser! | NOW Ultrasonic Bamboo Diffuser Review

Recently, my $15 essential oil diffuser broke, so I figured it was time I make an investment (kind of). I started searching online and was looking for something sophisticated, yet not too abstract. My last diffuser started to look a little dingy, so I wanted something that was higher quality. Many of the diffusers I found online had some type of bottle neck, or vase shape ---- both of which I did not want. I liked the cylinder style, so I found a few that I liked and read some reviews to help me make my decision. The one I ended up getting was the  Now Foods Ultrasonic Bamboo Diffuser ! *This is a cold diffuser that maintains the essential oil properties through a cool mist, as opposed to a heat diffuser which will break down the goodness in the oils* The body has a bamboo finish, and has a small band on the top that displays a rainbow of colors if you put it on the light setting! I like this diffuser because it is pretty customizable. You can change your settings depen...

Modeling in San Francisco

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to do a shoot with a friend of mine on a rooftop in San Francisco! A rooftop shoot has always been on my to-do list, so I definitely couldn't say no! ~To preface all of this, it was about 100 degrees in Walnut Creek that day, so we expected a high 70-80 degrees in SF, with a beautiful sunset. San Francisco was beautiful, but it was about 65 degrees when we got there! This really sweet family that my friend knew let us use their rooftop, and they had an incredible view of the water. We got inside the home and decided on outfits and lipstick colors, and then headed up the stairs to the rooftop. We definitely underestimated the wind power that exists in San Francisco, so we were instantly thrust into the wind! It was a little hard to stand, and even keep my eyes open, but it was so much fun! I have to say, my makeup somehow stayed on throughout the intense wind, so cruelty free makeup can totally hold up next to some of th...

Winter Essentials!

I love winter. I love the rain, the candles, the hot cocoa, Christmas shopping & everything in between! One thing I'm definitely obsessed with right now is plaid! I found this adorable plaid craft paper at Michaels Stores , and this perfect plaid hair scrunchie from Goody Hair ! Some of my other favorite goodies are the Jolly Gloss by Kylie Cosmetics , and the winter eyeshadow kit from Chanel Makeup ! I've also included in the photo, a candle that smells like delicious ripes apples, and a gorgeously wrapped bar of soap that I've received as a gift :) What are some of your winter favs? Happy Holidays!
